The Mediator: Shadowland
Susannah Simon has a unique “gift.” She’s a mediator, someone who can see and talk to ghosts. Suze spends a lot of time directing the usually unhappy dead to the afterlife. However, her job is not easy, as not all ghosts want to be guided.
When Suze moves from New York to San Francisco to live with her mom's new husband and her new stepbrothers, she finds out very quickly that things aren’t going to change like she’d hoped they would. She tries to get settled into her new room and ends up finding Jesse, a hot dead guy who’s hanging around her bedroom. Also, Father Dominic, the principal of her new school, happens to be a mediator too, with very different styles of mediation than her. And when Suze saves the life of Bryce, one of the popular guys at her school, from his ghost of an ex-girlfriend, Heather, she’s suddenly invited to parties and nominated for sophomore class vice president. On top of all this, Suze has to figure out a way to make Heather move on to the next world, and quickly, before she kills Bryce.

Suze Simon- Suze is a mediator. She helps troubled ghosts go to their "final destination." She recently moved to California becuase her mom got remarried and wants to re-invent herself and be normal for once.
Jesse DeSilva- Jesse is the hot ghost that's haunting Suze's bedroom. He was murdered there over 150 years ago and still doesn't know why he hasn't moved on.
Heather- The ghost of a revenge-seeking ex-girlfriend out to get the most popular guy in school. Suze must stop her before she succeeds in killing him.
Brad, Jake and David Ackerman- Suze's new stepbrothers. She nicknamed them Dopey, Sleepy and Doc.
Father Dominic- He's also a mediator, but he's also a priest and the principal of Suze's new school. He and Suze have very different styles of mediation, and sometimes get in each others way.
