Everynight when you wash away The makeup of today Next day wakin up To face the mirror Are you content with who Is the reflection before you Or is the makeup reapplied To do just that, make up and hide Who you are Cause by far You're not content Therefore choosing to invent The painted on reality To overshadow a tainted personality Applin foundation To cover frustrations Within your inner you That you always knew Needed to be covered In hopes no one will ever discover How messed up you are inside Therefore choosing to hide Behind the cosmetic Concealing images that are pathetic Fake lashes and eyeshadow hide What resides inside your eyes The things about you Wishin they weren't true Brushin on blush Tryin to hide how flush You are in the mind As you entwine Fantasies with reality To make you yet another personality Just as lipsticks come in different hues Is every hue a different you If makeup makes you Who you are Then who really are you I ask Now that the mask Is complete and The real you is obsolete Where is the reality In this personality That has been designed In order to define Who you want to be Cause you're refusing to see The custom-made mask The masquerades Fantasies created by a diguise Not wanting to recongnize the real you Wake up Come from under the makeup And learn to make do With the real you Now that the mask is applied I ask does the makeup hide The you that you don't want to see Cause you sincerely you don't want to be YOU ! ! ! !
