First thing you must do before buying the turtle is to provide the turtle with a proper home. I would suggest using a large glass tank for inside turtles and a small pond for outside turtles.
When buying your turtle I would suggest picking the most colorful or most active.

As your turtle grows it will need more space to live when this happens your turtle will become very stressed and its attitude will change drematicaly.
