Calories A calore is a unit of energy. They should consist of: 15% protein 30% fat 55% carbs Carbs: 4 calories Proteins: 4 calories Fats: 9 calories For every calorie you eat you need 1/2 tsp of water. The amount of calories a person should consume depends on thier age, weight and physical activity. The more calories you eat, the more energy you gain, if you eat more energy than you burn off, it turns to fat. When you exersize you burn off your calories first, only then does your body start to burn off your fat. (stored energy) After a marathon, many runners are known to eat double their normal calorie intake. They do this because running a marathon easily burns 3000+ calories. To the right is a chart that shows how many calories an average person burns by running a mile. Running is one of the most efficient ways to burn calories.
