Christianity *the military started losing control of the boarders soilders did not agree with the new emperors *finally Barbarian invasions broke apart the empire
Many words we have today are adapted from the Latin language either by the prefix or suffix. Latin was the language of the Romans.
Downfall factors of Rome and Greece setting the scene for Dark and Middle Ages !
There was an executive branch, a legislative branch and a judicial branch just like we see today in the US. There was an emperor and the people voted for an individual to represent them in choosing law and such which a normal citizen was unable to do.

The Roman Military was very powerful and the best at is time. It was successful becaue of its organization and training. They also had advanced weaponry. This has influenced us and other leading countries since it has built us up to what we are today.
Theater - The ideas of tragedy and comedy have been seen throughout history but it all started with Greece. Also the theater plan we use to day is similar and influenced by the ones from Greece.
The Fall of the Greek Empire *The Romans were able to conquer Greece because of its weak unity and no coincidence (no sure which side to take Roman or Macedonian) between the city-states, there was always war like conflicts among them. *The population of greece was also diminishing and their military was weaker.*The Macedonian King took over and controlled much of Greece for the time being *Finally the Roman empire conquered Macedonia and soon after that Greece which they divided into provinces. *The Romans respected the Greeks and their culture, society, and advancements, adapting many. * The greek empire was taken over but their cuture and way of life continued under the Roman leadership.
Roman and Greek Influences on Today
Medicine - Most influenced by Hippocrates who was a physician/doctor. He came up with medical ethics made the Hippocratic Oath. The Hippocratic Oath is still used today having graduating doctors to take to oath saying that they will be just and moral. He analyzed many illnesses, recorded symptoms, and found treatments. He has had a great influence on the western world also today some of the tools he made as still used.
