My beautiful butterfly, You are so very special to me, To where no one dare ask why, I will keep you here safe from harm, For I would die, If a scratch would land upon your wing. I only left you for a little while, Everyone now knows that you're a free spirit, They all won't prod at you, For I am always there to protect you. Then I came back, All was changed, You got sick, I helped you out as best I could. Nothing could prepare us for what is to happen, We could have expected it, But we couldn't stop the tears running down our faces, You were our pride and joy, Our light at the end of the tunnel, You were our happiness, Now that you're gone, All I can do is keep you close in memory, and remember how beautiful you once were, For nothing can portray anything, Like you my special little butterfly.
