The Dance of the Trees They are calm and still Peaceful Or so it seems Noone notices the anger Or frustration Filling up their immobile trunks But then Subtly beginning Is the silent swaying Finding the beat Joining each other In sorrow and melancholy The lives of all the lost souls Are gathering now Slowly encircling Chilling and entering Letting their presence Be known to all And all of a sudden A bright light alerts them That the drums are coming And now all in unison They listen to the noise The echoing noise And lose themselves In the rhythm of it all The anger is flowing now Channelling through their movements Because they are no longer immobile They are swaying, dancing, thrashing In time With the energy Of a thousand souls Waiting for their time To dance The Dance of the Trees.
