Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Causes: An absence of dystrophin, a protein that helps keep muscle cells intact.
Symptoms: Weakness, muscle waisting (hips,thighs...ect). Enlarged calves. Obesity. Joint contractures Cataracts, frontal baldness, drooping eyelids, gonadal atrophy, and mental impairment
Treatment: No Treatment. Therapy and surgery may help lessen pain.
Prognosis: Grim. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy occurs in children, they usually dont make it past 20. Progressive muscle failure will lead to death.
