The Titanic was a missive cruiseliner that sank due to the force of an iceberg tearing a hole in the bottom of the ship causing it to fill with water & sink.

18 lifeboats werent at full capacity. 324 people - 1st class 283 people - 2nd class 708 people - 3rd class
705 people survived out of 1,300 51 lifeboats would have been needed to carry all the passengers to safety. There were only 20 lifeboats on the ship.
28% 3rd class passengers survivded 68% 1st class passengers survived
Due to the lack of lifeboats 595 lost their lives on that night.
