Fritzsche was taken prisoner by Soviet soldiers in Berlin on May 2, 1945. He was charged with the conspiracy to commit crimes against peace, also with war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Hans Fritzsche had not ever pushed for the extermination of Jews and on two cases he tried to stop the publication of an anti-Semitic newspaper.
Fritzsche maintained that “the war was started by the Jews… and their fate has turned out as unpleasant as the fuehrer predicted”.
Hans Fritzsche became a Nazi on May 1st 1933 until the Germany's downfall in 1945. He was promoted three times, from Superior Government Counsel to Ministerial Counsel, then to Ministerialdirigent, and finally to Mnisterialdirektor.
Hans Fritzsche was born on April 21st 1900. He died on September 30th 1953 due to cancer.
