Music has always been a large part of my life. Whether it be banging on pots and pans as a toddler, or sitting down with my acoustic guitar, music has always been there. I've played various forms of music in front of crowds before. I was involved in orchestra for a number of years, as well as my middle school's jazz band. But,there was another level or me to conquer. To join an actual band. I saw my first guitar club concert when I was a freshman. I was instantly hooked upon the idea of getting up on stage in front of the whole school, but I was just a lowly freshman. ''Maybe next year.'' I thought. Sure enough, next year rolled around. It was time for me to branch out and join a band so that I could play a show. I hooked up with a couple of guys a grade above me, juniors at the time. We prepared for the show for months, after all, none of us wanted to expose ourselves to the embarrassment so great that many have nightmares about it at one point in their lives. Being embarrassed in front of te whole school. In order to avoid this we practiced tirelessly. It was time for the show. We were the first band to play in front of the entire school. We were up. As the curtain lifted My hands began to tremble. I could feel the slickness of sweat on my fingertips. I could see the sea of the crowd that lay before me. My pulse tremored like a shockwave throughout my body. This was one of the greatest moments of my life. The opportunity to play a live show. Though the emotions leading up to it were the things that impacted me the most. That experience boosted my confidence and self esteem dramatically.
