Changed Forever
As winter turns to spring, The animals approach. They crawl out happily. But my feelings are the opposite. The sadness that kills time Will always pull me down. Teardrops burn down my cheeks. As burning thoughts go through my head.
The world I knew is now unknown. And life has changed with misery. Mixed feelings are inside my head. Despair has spread throughout my life. My heart has been pulled out, And a gutless feeling rages. All happy thoughts have disappeared. And life feels like it changed forever.
By Natasha Gunawan
I tried to convey my emotions of sadness in this poem by using contrast between the spring and sadness. It was a very deep and depressing poem to write.
The poetic devices that I used in this poem were personification, when I say phrases like 'a gutless feeling rages' and hyperbole, when I say 'My heart has been pulled out'. This is also an emoitional piece of writing.
