Major Supporting Details: sentences that directly reinforce the main idea. Minor Supporting Details: sentences that serve to support major supporting details. Implied Main Ideas: Not all main ideas are directly stated. Sometimes you have to look closely at the details the author has provided in order to determine the main idea.
