Max Waldman ejoyed taking photos of the nude, actors, and dancers. In the mid-60's Waldman gave up working as a comertial photographer and began photographing his first few subjects. Waldman enjoyed taking photographs of avant garde theater and showing the darker side of life.
This eventually led to him showcasing his work at the Museum of Modern Art in 1967. Max Waldman was born in Brooklyn in 1919. When he was eight his father died and his mother, unable to suport her five children & put
them in a orphanage. In the 1930's Waldman was part of the Civil Conservation Corps & that is where he first started taking pictures. Max Waldman died March 1, 1981 at the age 61.
