Pros
Morgan Naylor
No Child Left Behnid Act
-High test scores earn the school money, but the student gets nothing in return for the test, therefore most students won't do their best. -Standards are different in all states, some are low and some are high. This gives some students the opportunity to pass with flying colors and others no chance at passing grades.
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 was initially legislated for 5 years, and was then expected to be easily renewed in 2007...but But Senate Democrats were divided on reauthorization.
Cons
-NCLB links state academic content with student educational outcomes, and requires school improvement be implemented using "scientific-based research" methods in the classroom, parent programs, and teacher development courses. -NCLB measures educational status and growth by ethnicity, and helps to close the achievement gap between white and minority students.
