Omar ibn Al-Khattab rejected the luster of life at the time he was most capable, instead he was seeking the paradise of Hereafter.
He was extremely intentionally aware of facing judgment in the afterlife. This particular characteristic of Omar made him on many levels face rejection of women to accept his proposal in marriage; he was known to lead a harsh stiff life not accepted by many women.
However, several others accepted to share his life in marriage, and discovered, in him the deep qualities of the hidden kindness, and tenderness of the soul. Omar was very selective in choosing his wives, and the most characteristic quality to his preference was the fertile female.
From all of this I learned that he was a very srtong man that knew how to take care of things. even though he had a differrent approach to things and to us they may not seem the best way to go about things, he had a reason behind it all. He loved Islam and the Prophet Muhammad very much that he would sacrifice his life for either one of them at anytime they needed it. I one day hope to have that as much Iman as he did.
I Too Wanna Be Like Omar! <3
