"But that's not what happened."
"Lucy?" "Hey Dad, listen, I'm gonna hang at the mall with Cindy and Kelsey, 'kay?" "Okay fine, but be-" "Yeah yeah, be careful," I finished impatiently, "Okay thanks Dad, bye, love you." I hung up and hustled to the mall. When I felt the cold aire rusing to my face as I entered the mall I spotted Cindy and Kelsey waving at me, smiling on a nearby bench. I smiled to myself. It's go time. By the time it was my b-day party, I was decked out with a knee-length, amber dress, black heels with stringy straps, with a matching butterfly mask with black feathers covering the area around my eyes. I was wearing a dangly beady black necklace in place of the silver heart locket I usually wore. I suddenly wondered where I put it. Finally, when all 180... no wait, 183 guests arrived, it was time for the royal introductions; our family was last, specifically me, because yay, it was the brithday girl's special day. As the names and faces passed by me while I was waiting in the waiting room (playing pacman on my phone,) where just outside was the grand stairs to the dining room where party. It was about 15 minutes when I FINALLY heard the dude say, "And now, from Elder Grove..." I was ready, as usual. I remember I used to freak before they called my name, heck I even tripped down the stairs once (not a happy thought), but now everything felt so familiar: I would glide down the steps, Mom and Dad waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs, and smile and wave like a pansy. But that's not what happened. Immediately after they announced my name, the lights completely blacked out, and when they came back on I ran out of the waiting room wondering what happened- I almost instantly noticed, my eyes wide with panic and shock. Mom and Dad weren't at the bottom of the staires. I was trying to make sense out of it. Why weren't they down there? Where are they? Does this mean the party's off? (hopefully.) I had no idea what happened to them, until at the last moment, I saw a masked (well, duh) figure making a run to the exit of the dining room. Chapter 3: I Breaky my New Heals My first thought that automatically flashed in my mind was to scream, "HELPP! MY PARENTS AREN'T HERE," but I completely shoved the thought out of my head. All the guests- even the guards lookd half-surprised, half-amused. It was probably because they thought the sudden blackout was for my "dramatic" entrance. Stupid. After a couple of miliseconds, I took matters into my own hands... or at least tried to. I dashed out the dining room and out the castle entrance. A couple yards away, the kidnapper, who I now see was in a dull wolf mask miraculously dropped this small object I couldn't identify. once I saw this happening, I commanded, "Stop! Thief!" Stupid. The masked figure's face shot straight up as he/she heard my voice and took off. I groaned and ook after the culprit, but all of a sudden... I tripped over the casle steps, fell on my left ankle, my mask fell off, and the heel of my shoe completely snapped off. "SHITTT!" I cried in agony. he thief stumbled to a stop and hesitantly turned around. "Gawd! How can I be so STUPID running ater a guy on freankin' HEELS?" I shouted. The figure quietly chuckled. HIs? voice sounded soft and king. He cautiously jogged back to me, trying to help me up. Trying to take adavantage of the moment, as soon as he got close enough, I tried to do my best to spring up and tackle him and... He caught me by the nads and lifeted me up to my feet as if I were five pounds. I gave him a "hmph," and looked away childishly. He chuckled again and was letting go of my hand so he can wrap his arm around my shoulder. The second he let go of my hand, my hand shot forward and pulled the man's mask off...
