Area of an oblique Triangle :)
Find the area of a triangle having 2 sides of 7 and 9 feet and 72 degrees . Area = 1/2 (7) (9) (sin 72 degrees ) and by using 1/2 ab = sin a then the area would be 29.96 ft.
What I found most interesting about this was that this was technically the same thing as regular area except with the concept of an angle added in (especially with sin ) and it got most interesting when we reversed the way of solving when we had to find a side instead of the area (which we had to use radians)
Area = 1/2 bc sin a 1/2 ab sin b 1/2 ab sin c (basically its the same idea)
Now how about we reverse it and say the area =24 cm and use 5 / 6 we would set it up as 24= 1/2 (x^2) (sin 5 /6) 48 = (x^2) (sin = 5 ./6) 24=1/2 (x) (x) sin (5 /6) 4 x 1/4 (x^2) 96= (x^2) -------> 4 x 24 = (x^2) = 9.79 = x
When the problem asks you to find the area all you have to do the numbers into the equation and solve but when its reverse operation then it will give you a radian and you will have to solve everything , (you wont need the unit circle)
