So this is it standing on the edge of the eternal ending my life has been leading to this moment the day it wouldn’t continue
The memories I have, are of a past I ignored for so long, The hate, the pain, the crying the screaming, the loneliness Blanked out, scratched away, covered over
I open my eyes to see the darkness swooping over the birds flying away, the sirens getting closer the river raging on through the valley My heart beat quickening, and my breathe deep Nothing can erase what happened, I can’t run
The sirens ring around my ears, screaming coming from behind me don’t do it, turn around, you have your whole life to live for
But what if that life is only filled with the memory of what happened What if there wasn’t going to be a happy ending for me what if it never goes away, What if I can’t stop myself
And what if I didn’t jump. . . .
I look out in front of me to see the blue sky the bright sun I close my eyes and listen to the calm, bird’s wings, the wind blowing over the mountains the distant flowing river, my calm heart beat
