Come To Power - Benito enlisted in the army, but was discharged due to sharpnel wounds - returned to journalism, and started developing ideas that would be called facism - Benito seemed to have all of the answers for the Italian government - he managed to take all powers of the Italian government, and was successful in stabalizing it -know as ''il Duce''
Benito's Goal
- he wanted to improve the italian economy, and bring it stability - his ambition was to regain for Italy the prestige and power. - attempted to create an Italian empire, ultimately in alliance with HITLER's Germany
Scare Tactics
- he made the trains run on time by shooting someone if they didn't - ordered tha navy to bomb Corfu off the Greek coast - wanted to place all italian citizens under complete government control - followed the Nazis in adopting a racial policy that led to persecution of the Jews - executed his Facist leaders if they abandoned him
