She started out small - A weak, vulnerable and soft oak tree. Starting, like all of us, to grow. Where many of us failed, she succeeded. She fought the strong winds of verbal abuse. - She became confident. Survived the storms of hate, depression and sorrow. - She dominated the cold that darkness brought. She made it through the rains of judgment and loneliness. - She accepted herself and enjoyed her own company She kept herself rooted in the ground when violence wanted to uproot her. - She became a fighter As the harsh world sent all its natural disasters her way, she held strong. Her branches grew stronger. Her trunk got thick and coarse. She withstood life’s challenges. She’s had to survive more times than most people, but where they withered and died, she grew bigger… stronger Now she stands, magnificent, big and powerful. Her branches reach far around her trunk. Life's hardships have made her beautiful and strong. She is a refuge to those still fighting their battles with life and a motivation to those on the verge of giving up. Come climb in this tree. Sit on her sturdy branches, - Enjoy the view, listen as she tells her stories, and remember what she teaches you. She will prepare you, train you. You’ll climb down… A warrior!!!!!
