Although it was constructed in the 1960's, the church on the right was inspired by churches in the renaissance.
The reformation of Europe started when malpractices in churches upset many believers. Popes were not taking care of citizens. They were using their position as leverage to make their lives more luxurious. Priests in the churches were accepting indulgances. Believers were bribing the priests for so called forgiveness. Idols were also worshipped. Some believed that if they displayed these idols, it would gain them leverage once they entered Purgatory. The reputation of the church was destroyed enough to leave way for new idealists such as Martin Luther.
