Black Holes In theory, a Black Hole is an x-star* that's gravitational pull is so great that not even light can withstand it. There are 4 basic(I say basic) Laws of Black Hole Physics 1. It has the same value everywhere on the event horizon. 2. The Mass of a Black Hole depends on the Suface Gravity x Change in Area 3. The Surface area of a Black Hole can only increase - not decrease. 4. It is impossible to lower the surface gravity at the event horizon to zero through any physical process. *By an x-star I mean the star becomes a black hole only when it burns out.
Universe
String Theory The String theory, conjured up by Sir Isaac Newton and is generally used to explain the possibility of time travel. The theory states that time and space can be bend. This relates to time travel as it is a short-cut. Imagine this universe is a line. Now bend the line to join where you are to the point you want to go back /forwards to. Similarly this theory can be used to reach a paralell universe. Imagine two paralell lines. Join where you are to the point at which you want to travel to on the paralell universe. The TV programme, Stargate explains this brilliantly.
Paradox A Temporal Paradox is a parodox that is caused by time-travel. To explain it basically - A man goes back in time to see his grandfather. He ends up killing his grandfather before his grandfather concieves the man's father. But because the man's father was never born the man himself wasn't born. And since the man never existed he can't have gone back in time to shoot his granfather so... instead the grandfather is moved to a alternate dimension where he would have been shot anyway.
General Relativity Albert Einstein believed that in our Solar System everything bent or warped around the sun. That is how the orbit of the planets is formed.
The universe is most commonly defined as everything that exists anywhere, this includes the entirety of space and time, all forms of matter, energy and momentum, and the physical laws and constants that govern them.
