The CEPA gallery, a resource for photographic creation, education, and presentation, was founded in 1974.
Some Albright-Knox history: The governing body of the Albrigt is the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy, founded in 1862. The Albright was a gift to the Academy by buffalo entrepeneur and philanthropist John J. Albright and was completed in 1905. The original building was designed by Edward B. Green, then an addition, funded by Seymour H. Knox Jr. and his family and designed by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore and Owings and Merril of New York was dedicated in 1962. That is why it is now called the Albright-Knox gallery.
