Biographical Information Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858 and died on January 6 1919. Teddy was the Governor of New York, Vice President, and eventually the 26th President of The United States of America. Teddy also happened to be: a historian, a naturalist, a hunter, explorer, author, and soldier.
On A More Personal Note. . . Teddy, as well as being a phenomonal politician was intruiged by nature and the west. For a big portion of his time in the twenties he was a rancher out west. He owned cattle and the cowboys considered him an equal. His love for nature all started when his mother sent him to buy strawberries at the farmer's market. He saw a seal on one of the tables and was fascinated by it. Roosevelt then loved any form of nature for the rest of his life.
The American Personality America was still a young country when Teddy became president. Teddy was also very young. As a matter of fact Teddy was the youngest president. If President Roosevelt were to represent a Haverford virtue it would probably be loyalty. Teddy loved his country and pushed hard to protect the envirement. Before I started to learn about Teddy I believed that we should have a strong economy but after learning about Teddy my whole philosophy changed to trying to protect our envirement. That is why Teddy is my favorite!
