Liberty Bell
On June,7,1753,the bell was hung in the tower of Independence HallNo one knows why or how the Liberty Bell got cracked. All they know is that it was 90 years old when it cracked.. It was made for the Pennsylvania State House. Now it is for the Independence hall.
Starting in the 1880's the bell started traveling to cities. As a tradition, the bell was rung on every 4th of July and on every state occasion until 1846.Not everyone agrees on when the first crack appeared on the Liberty Bell, but by 1846 a thin crack began to affect the sound of the bell.In order to repair the bell, a slot was carved along the length of the crack that prevented the two sides of the bell from vibrating against each other. Today, the Liberty Bell hangs in Philadelphia at the Liberty Bell Pavilion on Market Street for all to see and is still gently rung each July 4th.
People agreed that the crack had expanded. IT became worse, and it was its last rang on Washingtons birthday. The Liberty bell was declared to be the symbol of freedom for our country. Also washingtons birthday was on 2-23-1846.
The Liberty bell accually got cracked two or three times but those got fixed but the last crack was not fixable.s So now the Liberty bell has a big crack.
