Kudos and To Do's
Kudos to all staff that joined PTA last week--we got 53 new members! Kudos to 8th grade for getting the most members and winning the Pizza lunch! Also, thanks to the 8th grade staff for working as a team to refocus our 8th grade students last week. I really appreciate everyone's new hall monitoriing assignments--your presence makes all the difference. Be sure to begin scheduling parent conferences for conference night. 1. As the kids say, "What had happened was..." According to Marzano, Summarizing, Note-Taking and Comparing and Contrasting are three instructional strategies that best assist with student achievment. This week plan on spending some time focusing on SUMMARIZING. Here are a couple of great sites that have some creative new strategies ( Summary Ball) and some oldies but goodies (Exit tickets, 3-2-1 and think-pair-share). They are certainly worth reviewing.
