The Informational Brochure about Protists
Three Protozoans & their diseases: -Babesia: is an infection caused by which is spread to humans by a tick bite. It is an infection of red blood cells. -Coccidiosis: is a disease "of fowl caused by a microscopic animal or protozoa, and is characterized by diarrhea, unthriftiness & variable levels of mortality." Can infect fowl, domestic animals and humans. -American Trypanosomiasis (Chagas' disease): this disease is caused by infection of the parasite This disease is primarily transmitted to humans through contact with the vector, through contaminated blood transfusions, and congenital transmission is also a contributing factor.
Babesia microti,
Trypanosoma cruz.
Coccidiosis
Disease is causes: There are many species of this disease; each animal can get different kinds of it. So, for example, when a bird get this disease, the organisms of Coccidiosis will invade the lining of the intestine, so it then produces tissue damage. Then, soon after the infection begins, the coccidia get rid of ''immature descendants,'' referred to as oocysts. After another long process, this disease can be transmitted to other birds by their droppings. Host(s) it infects: can infect fowl, domestic animals, and humans. Symptoms it causes: diarrhea, unthriftiness and variable levels of mortality. Danger to humans?: From research I have done, this is not harmful to humans.
I believe the three main groups of protists are: Animal-like protists, Fungus-like protists, and Plant-like protists.
