How social media can help your band be succesfull
Ok, you got your band and some good music. Lets get busy!
Create a myspace account. Here you can upload songs, write some info about your band and inform your fans about upcoming gigs. And most importantly, get connected with other bands and potential bookers. If you help them, they will help you!
Next step is facebook. Create an account for your band and then send invitations to your facebook friends. Now your friends will know for sure that you were'nt kidding about that crazy band talk!
You can upload songs, pictures and videos on facebook. Do this and let everyone know that you did! Write about your bands progress and upcoming events. Be sure to put links between your facebook and myspace pages, cause the fans alvays wants to see more!
If you got a musicvideo you should put it on youtube. You can start an account and then create your own chanel for your band. Once again, be sure to link to your facebook and myspace pages so the wievers can get more info about your band.
Thats just the tip of the iceberg actualy but it's a good start for an upcoming band. The rule to follow at all times is this one: Be active on all these sites and show interest in other bands and people. They will return the favour and give your band the attention you deserve! Getting that dream gig at that one place will get so much easier when you have a strong social community supporting you.
