Conflicts
Internal During her stay in France, Mary misses her mom very much. She struggles going on with her own life in France while her mom is far away in Scotland. She and her mom are like best friends.
Characters Mary Stuart- When she was nine months old, she was crowned Queen of Scotland. She doesn't like the idea of marrying Prince Francis I, but she's really good friends with him. She likes hunting and riding her horse. Mary Livingston- She likes to write short, funny poems about her friends and family. She's one of Mary Stuart's four best friends. Mary Beaton- She's the bravest of all the the five Marys. She's also one of Mary Stuart's best friends. Mary Seton- She's the smallest of all the Marys and she can never tell a lie. She's one of the four best friends. Mary Fleming- She's one of Mary Stuart's best friends. Not much has been told about her, but she plays in an instrument quintet with all the Marys. Francis I- Francis is a 10 year old boy who's engaged to Mary Stuart. His mother is Queen Catherine. Queen Catherine de' Medici- She's the mother of Prince Francis I and is married to King Henry II of France. She's Mary Stuart's future mother-in-law, but Mary really doesn't like her that much.
External Mary has an external conflict with Queen Catherine. The Queen makes her do ballet lessons, which Mary despises. She begs the Queen to stop doing these lessons, but the Queen ignores.
