Gneiss
This rock is common and widely distributed type it gets formed by high-grade regional metamorphic processes from pre-existing formations that were original igneous or sedimentary rocks.
This rock does not carry large quantities of micas, chlorite or other platy minerals.
It is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between gneiss and a schist, because some of the gneiss appear to have more mica than it really does.
