Spinal MuscularAtrophy This disorder affects childdren and also adults it affects the voluntary muscles that are used for activities such as crawlinlg, walking, haed and neck control,and swallowing. They are often most severley affected the legs get weaker then the arms.
It affects muscles throught out the body although mostly those closest to the trunk of the body for example shoulders, hipsa, and back.
This disorder can only be caused if both parents are carriers in there genes.
Both of the parents have to be carriers for the baby to get the disorder.
There really isnt any thing doctors can but just watch as they lose function of there muscles
This disorder is relativelly common approximately 1 in 6000 babies are born affected. and about 1 in 40 people are genetic carriers.
