Crusader: Well the first Crusade happened around the 1096-1099. It was a successful crusade. They first crossed the Asia Minor in heavy armor and thick garments. Theu also was slaughtering the Muslims living there. Anyway, through this journey, many things happened and changed. New towns arose, The feudal manor declined, the power of the kings increased, banking and the use of money grew, Western Europe acquired goods such as sugar, rice, lemons, cotton, and other goods. But in this long journey, there were many fears we had.
So for the Muslims living inside Jerusalem during the attack, they were scared. If I was a muslim I would be so scared. The Crusaders had usually massacred the entire population of every other city they had captured in. You'd have no reason to suppose Jerusalem and its population were going to be treated any differently. The Muslim occupation and control Jeusalem. Christians, Jews, and Muslims were all welcomed in the city untill the Crusader changed that.
Why was the city of Jerusalem considered holy for a Christian Crusader and for a Muslim? For the Christian Crusader, Jerusalem was holy because it was where Jesus was crucified and resurrected. For the Muslims, Jerusalem was holy because the Prophet Muhammad was to have ascended to Heaven.
