See such amazing sights as Olympus Mons, Valles Marineris, the 'Ice Moon', the Oort Cloud, the largest planet in the Solar System, and much more!
Join us on a glorious journey to the Twelve Wonders of the Solar System!
By Princess Bronwen Hudson
First stop: MARS! Mars has several astounding attractions! The ones we will visit on our trip are Olympus Mons: the biggest mountin in the Solar System, and Valles Marineris, the biggest valley. Olymus Mons is the BIGGEST mountain in the solar system. It is 27 Kmtalls, and is a volcano. Valles Marineris is the deepst canyon in the solar system! It is located along the Equator of Mars, and stretches across almost a quarter of the planets circumference!
BLAST OFF!
Welcome to. . . Jupiter! This incredible planet is the largest in the Solar System! It is so enormous, it could fit all the other planets in it, easily! The Great Red Spot, a huge storm, is so big, it could fit two Earths in it!
Jupiter has four large moons, and a total of 63 known satellites. Wow! Jupiter is composed mainly of helium and hydrogen!
Next Stop: Io!
Io is the third largest of Jupiter's moons. It is slightly larger than Earth's moon.
Io is unique. Unlike any other body in the solar system, its surface is uncratered: and therefore, it is young.

Welcome to...Venus! (Sometimes called Earth's Sister Planet)
4th
Venus has no magnetic feild!
The Kuiper Belt: A facinating region beyond the planets extending from the orbit of Neptune! It consists mainly of small bodies. and stretches from about 30 to 55 AU away from the sun.
The Oort Cloud!

Stretch the images and text boxes so you can get a closer look!
Astronomers believe that the matter comprising the Oort cloud formed closer to the Sun and was scattered far out into space by the gravitational effects of the giant planets early in the Solar System's evolution.
The Kuiper Belt
The Oort cloud is a hypothetical spherical cloud of comets approximately a light year away from the sun.
Venus' rotation is somewhat unusual in that it is both very slow (243 Earth days per Venus day, slightly longer than Venus' year) and retrograde. In addition, Venus' rotation and it's orbit are synchronized such that it always presents the same face toward Earth when the two planets are at their closest approach. The causes of this phenomena is not known.
Halley's Comet!
7th
It can only be seen every 75 or 76 years! Halley's Comet is the only short period comet that is visible to the naked eye! It's orbit is highly eliptical, and focused on the sun. It is likely that Halleys Comet originated in the Oort Cloud!
Saturn's prominent rings are composed of ice particles, as well at rocky bits of material, and dust.
Saturn! *The second largest planet... famous for it's rings!*
Wind Speeds on Saturn can reach up to 1800 km/h.! Saturn is composed mainly of hydrogen, with trace elements of helium and other elements.

EARTH!
9th
The Earth is home to millions of species, including Humans! Earth is the only known planet to have life inhabit it!
70% of the Earth is covered in water!
THE SUN!
10th
The Earth, the other planets, and comets orbit around the sun.
The sun is about 93 million miles away!
The Sun is the star at the center of our Solar system.
