Radon is a colorless, odorless, naturally occurring, radioactive noble gas that is formed from the decay of radium. It is one of the heaviest substances that remains a gas under normal conditions and is considered to be a health hazard. It is the heaviest known gas. Radon is present in some spring waters.
Radon discovered in 1900 by Friedrich Ernst Dorn, It is essentially inert. It has been called radon since 1923, before which it was called niton.
