Lab Safety
If an accident happens, tell your teacher about it immediately so that things can be taken care of.
Always wear closed-toe shoes to avoid stepping on spilled chemicals, broken glass, etc. There could be chemicals on the floor not properly cleaned up from previous classes and if they are deadly, you could burn your feet or some other chemical reaction might happen.
Stand up while doing an experiment so that if anything happens, like if a bunsen burner falls, you can move out of the way fast.
If a beaker or any glass item breaks or if some chemicals spill, the other students will need to be warned too, so that they can avoid going near the 'danger zone'.
Protect yourself! Wear proper equipment while doing an experiment. Goggles, gloves, and hair-ties are usually needed if you are watching or creating a chemical reaction, or working with a bunsen burner
Try not to let accidents happen,
Long-haired people need to wear hair-ties to avoid getting it burned.
