It was so different when we met I thought you were better than this I didn't know a drunk is what I was about to get Or that you'd kill me more and more by the kiss I never thought the day could come That I would lose you to the alcohol But then I finally heard the roll of the drumb And I knew I eventually I would fall Last night I saw your number as my phone rang It was 2:13 in the morning And I know when I didn't answer you were thinking "dang.. The last fight really wasn't another warning I know if I answered all you would have to say But it really doesn't meen a thing When you go to the bar every single day And make the last call of the night when my phone rings And you should have thought about that Before it got too hard for you to quit And before every talk turned into combat Before it was way too late to mend this aweful split
