Dear Diary, Christmas Eve and Christmas in Germany were wonderful! I received lots of cards and presents from my family back home, all picturing our hot Australian Christmas party. I also got presents from my German family, including a beautiful cashmere glove and hat set to see me through the cold German winter here. Oh, that’s another thing, this is my first hot Christmas! It’s amazing. It’s the first time I have really enjoyed eating a hot Christmas lunch. Germany is a lot different from Australia in that the people exchange their gifts on the evening of the 24th, not the 25th. Some of the foods we ate include goose, or Gansbraten, and Stollen, a German fruitcake shaped like a loaf. It was great here in Germany, and I will miss it, but I am glad to be getting back home to our weather soon! Tschuess!
