Rome Contributions Connections to Today
Greeks contributed -Olympics, we still hold the olympics every 4 years. Countries stop fighting and just go to a compitition like in marical. -Architecture, like the arch on a bridge. Also the White House. -Literature, we still use today and some of their plays are still acted out and well known. -Government, the Greek government was a democracy were certain people can vote. Like today you have to be 18 but back then there were other standards. Also their city states were like our states we have today because they could make rules for that area but the federal government really has a say overall.
-Government, the Romans had a senate that controlled different parts of the empire and this is similiar to our senate today because it also focuses on different area and not everyone just on one thing. -How cities were laid out, Cities of ancient Rome were planned out and the roads were perfect along with sewers and other public facilities which we still plan out how we will design our cities today. -Roman Numerals, we dont really use the roman number system anymore but we still have to learn it and is sometimes used on occations for outlines. -Architecture, the Romans invented the Rotunda that is still used to like at the Catty High School and it part of the Rotuneda Rumors.
