Clerks
Title: Clerks Year: 1994 Genre: Comedy Director: Kevin Smith Main Actors: Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson Main Characters: Dante, and Randal
Opening Weekend: $31,665 Total Gross Earnings: $3,151,130 Production Budget: $27,000 Running Time: 1 hrs. 32 min. L)The movie was far more popular in the long run than it was in theatres. It was very low budget and didnt receive much advertisement, which could have caused the low income in the cinemas. N) The movie portrays the relationships between men and women as very complicated, the characters often discuss their girlfriends and the troubles they face in their relationships.
Y) The film is timeless in the sense that the issues the main characters face are still issues that many people of all ages face today. Anyone who has to work a job that they despise and deal with people on a daily basis will find themselves laughing and nodding as they deal with situations that often seem familiar
Central Plot: Dante is forced to come into work on his day off at the Quick Stop, a small convenient store. His close friend Randal works at the video store next door and he and Dante spend most of the day complaining about all the aspects of their life (their jobs, the customers they serve, and their girlfriends). The movie follows them as they deal with the day to day trials of a minimum wage earning worker in America.
