THE FALL AND DECLINE OF ROME *Outside forces started to invade the Roman Empire as well as failing economically *The Empire became too big to control *There were environmental problems. The wealthy used lead pipes as their water system. *Alcoholism rate sky rocketed *Homeless rated was very high *Roman Empire had problems choosing a new emperor *Unemployment rate was high. The Emperor had to import grain for 100,000 Romans families
MIDDLE AGES ^The Middle Ages was a hard time period ^Not many couldn't read or write ^There was no hope in the improving of the lifestyle conditions of the Middle Ages ^There was a strong belief in Christianity and that life in heaven was a a lot better than on earth
DARK AGES -Barbarians, goths, vandals, and huns came to Europe from the east and north -They destroyed all the buildings and art work the Romans had made -Knowledge only survived in the monastaries -There weren't very many schools left -Many old arts and crafts were lost -The lost knowledge of the ancient Greeks and Romans was found again and the Middle Ages begun
