Rubidium
I am in group 1, Period 5
I am usually found in a solid sate
I am a soft silver-white metallic element
I was dicovered in Heidlelburg, Germany by two scientist Robert Bunsen and Gustav Kirchhoff, in the year 1861.
My name comes from the latin word rubidius which means dark red.
I am commonly used for Ion Engines for space vehicles. Also used as a working fluid for vabor tubing. And for Vaccum tubes. Making special glass.
I cannot be around water because i react violent and cause fires.
