Sprawl!!!
the Mall: A festering symbol of Sprawl Learn from someone who works there how much the customer really does matter; even if it means making sacrifices for our planet
Sprawl is ''Haphazard growth or extension outward, especially that resulting from real estate development on the outskirts of a city'' Sprawl is leading to the destruction of community and land through trying to develop effciently by the books. Instead, this efficiency has proven to be serverly inefficient to natural life and must be reversed or else our country's infastructure will become tarnished and complicated. Not to mention, Sprawl also leads to overconstruction of buildings, such as strip malls, which wastes land, while older buildings remain unused and lifeless.
What does Sprawl do exactly that is so harmful? By throwing out old means of construction, many engineers and planners have created newer ways to develop. However, by dropping conventional means, they have also bound themselves to theoretical practice, and naturally, life situations are much more complex than what is written in a book or guide. Because of this, many cities have inefficient means of travel, requiring almost every citizen to have a car. On top of this, many roads are confusing, highways run through cities, and intersections have high accident rates...
...Not to mention, Sprawl also leads to overconstruction of buildings, such as strip malls, which wastes land, while older buildings remain unused and lifeless. Sprawl is the reason why you see tons of old or decaying building, while new ones are constantly being built.
What is Sprawl? ''the scattered, unplanned, and unchecked expansion of a town or city into the surrounding countryside''
