Monsters Darkness drapes over the walls Like a thick coating on a canvas Whispers from afar seem loud as screams Through this night we want to pass To brush it by and sink into dreams Unidentified sounds bounce off the walls Into our ears and through our bodies, We shudder in fear The deep moaning and creaking Seems to come from the monsters Frozen and breathless, like hopeless prey Convinced of the soon and sudden horror We’re about to face Louder, like a storm, the sounds begin to grow Till the moment and place They devour our worthless souls
