STRUCTURALISM AND FUNCTIONALISM
STRUCTURALISM- psychology centering on the analysis of the structure or content of conscious mental states by introspective methods
FUNCTIONALISM- Functionalism is the doctrine that what makes something a thought, desire, pain (or any other type of mental state) depends not on its internal constitution, but solely on its function, or the role it plays, in the cognitive system of which it is a part
Structuralism and Functionalism are often compared because they seem to be similar in form and in thought. Its an organized way of thinking and designing the things around you to fit your mind the best. Functionalism talks about a mental state of mind (your thoughts) and what type of role it plays in everyday actions Its a complex but simple theory and ideas of how people think or should think about everyday things
