All About The Telescope
A Refracter collects light by going throw the objective. The more light that goes through the more better you'll be able to see. The light goes through the objective lens and bends to a part that converges making the image so you can see. there's also something called an eyepiece which is the magnifying lens. The eyepiece differs the image sizes making it larger or smaller by the different eyepieces.
Types Of Telescopes And How To Use It
A Reflecter is another kind of telescope. It has a curved mirror instead of an objective lens that collects the light of the object that is being seen. This was invented by Isaac Newton. This is also known as a Newtanian telescope. The light goes through the telescope and hits a mirror called a primary. Next, it reflects on a tiny mirror that is in a 45-digree angle which is called the Secondary. After that the light goes to the side of the telescope which convergies the light making it into a image. The eyepiece in this telescope is placed at a positon to magnifythe image that is produced.
The first telescope was invented in 1608 by Hans Lipper Shey and Zacharias Jassen which looked like spy glasses. They had a convex objective lens and a concave eyepiece telescope which slid into focus when you needed to use it. In 1655, the astronomer, Christiana Huygens used Kepler's design except Huygen used a compound eyepiece instead. In 1616, Niccolo Zucchi, designed the first reflecting telescope. In 1688,Sir Isaac Newton had improved Zucchi's design of the reflector telescope. He added another mirror, and put it diagonal inside the telescope so that the light would go to that mirror. Afterward, it would go to the eyepiece. Then it would make it go to the side of the telescope, making the image clear so you can see!
There are 3 types of telespes a Refracter, a Reflecter, and a Catadioptric.
5 Important Discoveries Made By Our Solar System And Our Universe That Can Be Directly Related To The Use Of The Telescope
-Galileo Galiei had proved with the telescope, that Kepler's discovery was correct, that the sun was in the middle of the planets. It was also discovered with the telescope that the orbit of the planets was eliptical.
How Was The Telescope Invented?
-The fiirst observation of Saturn, through a telescope was made by Galileo Galilei in 1610. He couldn't tell that Saturn's rings were it's rings. He thought that Saturn had ears. Later on, in 1659, Christian Huygens had found out that the ''ears '' were actually it's rings. At that time it was also discovered that Saturn had a moon called Titan.
-Jupitar's red spot was found with a telescope in1664.
-Some planets like Neptune, you can't see without the telescope.
-The Hubble Space Telescope was used to find out that the universe is expanding.
A Catadioptric is a compound telescope. It has a mirror and an objective lens. there's a Primary Mirror that's at the back of the telescope. There's also a glass corrector plate that removes spherical aberratio. This is usually used for photgraphy since there's no Secondary Mirror or eyepiece. Photgraphic film was placed at the focus of the Primary Mirror. Today the Secondary Mirror bounces through a hole onto the primary mirror to an eyepiece which is where you can see the object.
