The Tree
The tender, quiet tree breathes softly.
Starting at the roots
the tree stretches up
with a never-ending power.
in hundreds of tones
Its brown trunk swirls
up to branches
that either reach high up to the sky
or pull life into a hug.
In the summer,
this tree displays its beautiful leaves of endless green.
But in the winter it lazily drops
its now vibrant decorations to the ground
calling, "Goodbye! I had such fun with you this summer."
as it looks deep inside itself
and it lovingly watches small shrunken leaves disintegrate
and something new begins again.
