CATHODE RAY TUBE
CRT has three parts of the technology. The "Cathode" is a filament common to the filament in a lightbulb. This filament is placed inside the "tube", which is vacuum sealed. When heated, the Cathode gives off electrons inside the vacuum. This line of electrons is called the "ray".
These are the main parts of the CRT ->
Disadvantages -Thick -Bulky -Heavy
In The picture above "electron gun" is actually called an "anode".It is negative, so it attracts the electron ray and shoots through. It goes to the end of the tube and hits the screen, which is coated in phosphor.this makes the electrons glow, and produces images.
Advantages -Cheap compared to other technologies -Long life
