Hopes to lower greenhouse gases by 80% by 2050
Mccain's views- He has called on congress for a suspension of the 18.4 cent federal gas tax and 24.4 cent diesel tax from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This is to provide some economical stability and relief from high gas prices.
Issue 3 Taxes
Obama's views - Obama's plan to improve the environment are based upon a "cap-and-trade" policy. This means all pollution credits will be auctioned to polluting companies, and proceeds will help build a "clean energy future, habitat protections, and rebates and other transition relief for families".
Our Views- Dr.Hunter and Dr.Sammy belive that the president should help reduce emmisions of the nation and lower dependence on oil.
Mccain's views - Mcccain's plan is known as The Lexington Project and is meant to give the usa several secure forms of energy. This is acheived by reducing foriegn oil dependency, cleaning our air, and addressing global warming. He also belives in the cap-and-trade system and thinks agriculture will play a big part in new fuels.
Obama's views - Obama states that he will provide Tax relief to 150 million people in need. Hew will make a "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. The "Making Work Pay" tax credit will completely eliminate income taxes for 10 million Americans.
Our Views- Dr.Hunter and Dr.Sammy belive that tax cuts should benefit all citizens, not just "150 million people in need" . Gas tax relief will benefit everyone where they need it most, at the pump.
Mccain's views - He is big on equal education and every one getting same opportunities. He believes parents should have full choice over which school their child attends to best educate them.
Obama's views - Obama will create many programs that will benefit teachers that prepares them, rewards them, and recruits them.
Our Views- Dr.Hunter and Dr.Sammy belive that The president should enforce No Child Left Behind, but also ensure quality teachers.
