Charles I of England By: Sam C
Charles I was born in Dunfermline, Fife on November 19th, 1600 as the second son of James VI of Scotland and Anne of Denmark. His father was James VI but as Queen Elizabeth’s heir, took the crown as King James the 1st. Although Charles was a very sick, weak child, he was appointed the Duke of Albany in December 1600, and the Duke of York in 1605. Charles was a great student who was overseen by Thomas Murray, but was non comparable to his brilliant older sibling Prince Henry. Charles throughout his life would be handed great power, but faced harsh realities such as corruption, war, violence, and even his own beheading. Charles was beheaded on January 30th, 1649 on a scaffold, which would end his infamous reign of terror.

Charles died on January 30th, 1649 due to beheading on a scaffold.
